Servant, Wife, Mother

I am a follower of Christ, married to a wonderful man, and we have 4 beautiful children. Over the past few years I have been doing an in depth study on Biblical Womanhood. Now I know that many have done a similar study, and I love reading what others have learned. But I really like to learn things for myself, and compare what I learn to what others have learned. Now I'm not going to lie, I am no where near done with this study, and I may never be. But I would love to share with you as I learn. I often study other things, lessons to do with my children, or study further on topics that are covered in church on Sunday. I have a weekly Bible study that I attend, and sometimes two. So I just kind of write about whatever I am learning about.

One of the things that I have learned is the order in which I placed my titles. First and foremost, I am a servant of Christ. Then I am a wife to my husband, and then I am a mother to my children. While often my life feels the exact opposite, it is important to remember that as going through my life. I might, as a stay at home mom, spend the most time with my children, but I do so trying to raise them the way that God wants me to. Thus I am being a servant while raising my children. I also spend my time cleaning our home and preparing meals and washing clothes, so that when my husband comes home he can relax. Don't get me wrong, my husband does help around the house, but I try to do the most of it since he is working to provide for our family.

Everything I do is to try to be the person that God wants me to be. Whether that is studying his word, loving my family, or helping others. I know that I am no where near where he wants me to be in my life, but I attempt to grow everyday. I hope that I can share what God teaches me with you. After all, knowledge is no good if you keep it to yourself.

Proverbs 31:30 (NIV)
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
