Training Children

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Training children isn't exactly the easiest thing on the planet (can I get an 'Amen'?). But it's definitely one of the most amazing journeys that anyone could ever embark on. Today, instead of writing a big long parenting post, I wanted to ask you, what is your #1 tip for training children in the way they should go?

P.S. I'm the guest blogger over at "Get REAL inC." today. I'd love for you to hop over and check it out!

I'm linking up with Word-Filled Wednesday over at Internet Cafe Devotions.

  1. Heather, thank you for stopping by my blog, Sweet Blessings! :)

Training children is definitely not easy, but well worth it! Beautiful encouragement!

  2. I 100% agree with you! Training children isn't easy....it's quite difficult and frustrating at times. I'm so glad that my children's salavation doesn't rely on me but on God. This thought actually had me in tears today. I'm so so so so (forget the commas ;)) thankful that God is sovereign and doesn't need my help in saving them! (Although I do have a responsibility).

#1 tip....GO TO THE WORD! There's a lot of wisdom there in training children. :)

BTW, have I told you that the above picture is one of my favorites of yours! It's so cute!!!

    1. Lol! Another family was taking pictures there, and my kids were just sure that they had to pose too!

Great tip by the way! I am constantly thankful that I'm not in this parenting thing alone, and that in the end, their salvation isn't up to me - what a blessing!

  3. Number one - something many may not agree with. TIME. Quality time parenting doesn't work.

Kids want you there, teaching, sharing, laughing, praying, playing and accepting them for who they are when you are with them. They want your time and believe me, the time you have with them until they leave home is short.
