Writer's Workshop: Seeing Myself

This week for the writer's workshop I am responding to prompt #4: Share a photo that represents how you see yourself. This took some thought, and then some searching to find just the right photo, but here is what I came up with:

So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; -- Colossians 3:12 (NASB)

I think this photo represents me in so many ways. For one thing, I live near the mountains, and love spending time outside in God's beautiful creation. But on the deeper side of things I have been chosen by God, I am His beloved. I am not the most compassionate, kind, gentle, patient person that you will ever meet (not even close!) but God is working in me. He is perfecting me, and will continue to do so until the day I die. These are all qualities that I am working on, and as a matter of fact I am in the mist of a study about 1 Corinthians 13 and we are discussing these topics. Striving to be more like Christ each day. I see myself as a chosen child of God. I see my self as God's beloved. I see myself as a work in progress.
