Moving forward

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. ~ Isaiah 43:18-19

Our family has just entered into the wilderness. My husband found out that the company he works for is selling all of their stores to franchise owners, which means that the General Managers (such as my husband) will be let go once their store is bought. He only has a job for one to two more months. I am praising God that we found this out, and we aren't just having them tell him one day out of the blue that he no longer has a job. Which is their plan for every other manager that works for them. My husband wasn't suppose to find out, and he isn't suppose to tell anyone.

This news was at first very upsetting to me, but then a friend shared Isaiah 43:18-19 with me. I hadn't yet told her about our news, but the verse just spoke volumes to our situation. Instead of stressing about the former job, we need to focus on where God is taking us from here. Only He knows what the future holds for us, and He will be there with us to carry us through whatever lies ahead.

There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. ~ Proverbs 23:28

  3. It is, indeed, a blessing to know in advance--and wow, how perfect that your friend spoke just the verse you needed to hear. Keep praying and following His leading!

  4. WOW! I am so glad the Lord let your husband know earlier and that He told your friend to share His truth with you. What a wonderful verse He shared with you! I pray you and your family will continue to trust in Him, that He is doing a new thing for you and your family! Big hugs to you and yours!

That has always been one of my favorite verses too!

  6. Saw your post on another blog about prepackaged foods, and want to encourage you that there are seasons for everything. Know that even with pre packaged things you can pick the "best of the worst" so to speak. *smile*

But, uuu...my Momma (single raising two girls) used to make lots of "conglomerations" with what was left in the fridge in a single pot. Didn't always look appealing, but we ate what we were served without complaint because that is what we were served with no other options. We didn't have snacks nor disserts often. For a breakfast on the go, she would scramble up some eggs (maybe six or less, not sure I've only made it once and it was a hit...should make it more often *smile*), add in: mushrooms, peppers, meat, and put it all in you know those biscuts in a tube (can use off brand fine here *smile*). She'd put the scrambled eggs in the biscut and pint it together at the top. Then put those in the muffin pan and bake that way. They were tasty and great on the go. Not to mention healthy for us. *smile* Fresh fruits and veggies get spendy in the "off season" but those frozen ones can go far if put with other things on the table. We get the 98 cent bags and I serve half a bag with dinner along with some meat and one other thing. I wish you all the best in learning the new ropes of grocery shoping while looking for work. Grow in God and I hope the egg things works for your family. *smile* My elder sister loves to make them to this day, for the memory of the thing if nothing else. *big smile* Grow in God and remember to pray always. Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!
